was what one of the headlines read in the Winnsboro, TX newspaper dated July 29, 2010. After I picked my jaw up off the floor, we went to work researching the legislation and its sponsors and here is the result of that investigation.

The Tea Party Movement began organizing in early 2009 largely in response to the runaway spending in Washington DC. The "bailouts" of 2008 and 2009, the "stimulus" of 2009, and the health care reform bill are a few of the things that prompted Americans to say enough is enough. The Tea Party Movement adopted the acronym for tea, "Taxed Enough Already", as the mantra that has resonated among average Americans who believe that Washington DC is out of control and rife with corruption, out-of-control spending, shady back room deals, and "legalized" bribery.
The Tea Party Movement began with protest rallies across America with events such as Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th (tax day), July 4th Tea Party rallies, and many others, but Washington was not listening. As a result, the Tea Party grass-roots movement has evolved its purpose into much more than just sending Washington a message; now the plan is to hand-deliver that message through the political process.
